Master Copy Study: Roses and Tulips in a Dragon Vase by Claude Monet
Here’s the revised description:
This painting is my master copy study of Claude Monet’s Roses and Tulips in a Dragon Vase. I was drawn to the contrast between the dark background, the luminous flowers, and the transparent glass vase with its golden dragon design.
Recreating the piece allowed me to study light, reflection, transparency, color, and texture. The flowers challenged me to observe subtle changes in warm and cool tones, while the vase required careful attention to the way light passes through glass and distorts the objects behind it.
What I enjoyed most was the balance between softness and strength—the delicate flowers against the dark background, and the graceful glass vase anchored by the bold golden dragon.
Original by Claude Monet. Master copy painted by Bella Castillo.
